4. ALLOCATION OF SEATS FOR DIFFERENT CATEGORIES / REGIONS

a) Out of the 450 seats of sanctioned intake, 85% will be allotted to Puducherry UT Candidates. The remaining 15% of seats (68) will be allotted to candidates from other states/UTs including 5 seats reserved for MHRD quota for beneficiary states/UTs.
b) Special Regional Allocation (Applicable for Puducherry UT candidates only): For number of seats and eligibility criteria refer to the table given under item No. 5.1 and item No. 5.1.7 of Information Bulletin.

Note: If a student discontinues the course completely, only the caution deposit and library deposit will be refunded. The caution /Library deposit have to be claimed within a year of their discontinuing/completing the course, otherwise it will not be refunded.

b) Fees payable to the University: Registration fee, Matriculation fee, Recognition fee, University development fee and Sports fee shall be paid as prescribed by the Pondicherry University. (Approx. Rs. 1300/-)

c) Examination Fee: University / College examination fee shall be paid as prescribed by the University / College.
d) Hostel Fees and Deposits: Separate hostels for boys and girls are available.

Note :
1. If a student discontinues the course completely, only the hostel caution deposit and mess deposit will be refunded.
2. For using electrical / electronic gadgets like iron box, two-in-one, water heater etc., students have to pay an additional amount of Rs. 200/- per annum on each of the items payable at the beginning of every year.
3. For using personal computer prior permission of warden is required. An additional fee of Rs. 300/- per annum payable at the beginning of every year shall be charged.

b) Examination Fee: University / College examination fee shall be paid as prescribed by the University / College.

c)Hostel Fee: Hostel facility is provided in rental buildings for Boys. For Girls, hostel facility is provided in PAJANCOA & RI hostel till arrangements are made by PKIET. For Boys, room rent will be around Rs.500/- per month and boarding facility will be arranged in coordination with any private hotel. They have to pay the rent for 10 months in advance at the college. For Girls, the boarding and lodging charges will be around Rs.1500/- per month besides refundable caution deposit of Rs.2000/-.

Of the total number of 40 seats,
a) 29 seats are available to the candidates of UT of Puducherry – which will be filled by CENTAC, Govt. of Puducherry.
b) Five (5) seats are available for NRI /NRI sponsored/Foreign students.
c) Six (6) seats allotted to All India Quota will be filled by All India Pre-Medical and Pre-Dental Test through CBSE to be sent by DGHS, Government of India, New Delhi.
d) Special Regional Allocation (Applicable to the candidates of UT of Puducherry only)) : For number of seats and eligibility criteria, refer to the Table given under Item No. 5.1 and Item No. 5.1.7 in the Information Bulletin.
e) Out of the sanctioned intake of 40 seats, 5 seats have been allotted to NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign Students. In the event of any vacancies allotted for NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign Students, they will be surrendered to state quota which will be filled by CENTAC. Govt. of Puducherry.
